September 30, 2009: Some figs

Here are some more figs from our wonderful fig tree. It's such a nice-looking tree and it gives us these amazing fruits as well. Hopefully next year I can make jam!

My parents had their driveway replaced this week. Doesn't it look nice? No parking on it for now!

September 28, 2009: Where's my Cream?

This Boston Cream donut had so little cream in it, I almost missed it. It is quite sad how little cream they give you these days.

September 27, 2009: New Hope Ridiculousness

We went with Deb and Bud to an art show in New Hope today. Deb's sister was selling jewelry. We walked down the main street and saw some ridiculous houses.

I really enjoy Holiday Inn Express hotels. Their rooms are usually spacious and the beds are comfortable. I get a microwave and fridge. And the price is reasonable.

September 23, 2009: Orange Monster Fungus

On our second day, we encountered some fun fungus growing on trees that had fallen across the stream. I thought these bright orange ones were awesome.

Today was our first day out in the stream and we encountered lots of fun plants. This was a flower I thought looked pretty awesome.

September 21, 2009: Traveling to Ohio

I arrived in Alliance, Ohio tonight for a week of field work. This is my Holiday Inn Express hotel room. It's quite spacious and comfortable. I already made a mess.

September 20, 2009: Pulmuone

This is Pulmuone tofu, which we buy at H Mart. There are soup packets you can get to make this really spicy tofu soup. It's quite tasty!

September 19, 2009: Guts of our House

After the demo we did a while ago, we still haven't had someone come out and fix the deck, so everything is still opened up. We should probably take care of it soon ...

September 18, 2009: China Inn

Chad's Aunt Beth and his grandmother have been telling us about this Chinese restaurant for a while, so tonight we met them there for dinner. It was pretty tasty!

September 17, 2009: Our Very Own Figs!

Last year we didn't get any figs on our fig tree, but this year there were tons. I was afraid they wouldn't ripen, but they did! And they were awesome!!

September 16, 2009: New McDonalds

I think they tore down this McDonalds and then rebuilt it. It is on Rt. 73 so I pass it twice a day. It looks totally different than the ones I'm used to.

September 14, 2009: Our Dumpster

We had a crapload of yard waste and other stuff to get rid of, so we rented a dumpster. It was a lot of fun to fill it up! It holds 15 cubic yards, so we were able to get a lot in it!

September 13, 2009: Knit in Public Day

Today Chad's knitting group had a Knit in Public day in Rittenhouse Square. I thought this construction equipment looked so cute. Like a father and son duo.

September 12, 2009: Wristlet Purse

A long time ago Aria told me she was trying to make a wristlet purse for herself. I had never heard of one, so she described it. I decided to sew her one for her birthday.

September 11, 2009: Lots of Cookies!

We went to my parents' house tonight and my mom brought out this big batch of cookies. Peanut butter chocolate chip! So yummy.

I recently asked Adina for a recipe for a Mushroom Cobbler that she used to make. She sent me the recipe and then ordered a copy of the book for me! So sweet!!

We got these wines several weeks ago for some event ... don't remember what, but they've been sitting around waiting to be drunk. Maybe someday soon ...

September 8, 2009: CD Swap

We had our second CD swap today at Chad's knitting group. I thought this CD was so awesome - it's made to look like an old vinyl record.

September 7, 2009: Honey is so Cute

My parents' cat, Honey, likes to lie in this one spot. It's a very strange spot, but it makes her happy, I guess. She's such a cutie.

September 6, 2009: Dogs Playing

We went to Chad's family's house today for a Labor Day get-together. The two puppies were there and they were having fun chasing each other around the yard.

September 4, 2009: Mosquito Breeding Grounds

There is this vacant lot near my office and it apparently has poor drainage because it always looks like this - a mosquito breeding ground! Fun.

September 3, 2009: Toe "Surgery"

If you remember, I had my toe cut open earlier this year to address ingrown toenails. Well that was my right foot, now I got my left one done! So glad it's over.

September 2, 2009: Julie and Julia

The Hiway in Jenkintown has a deal on the first Wednesday of each month. Buy one get one if you eat dinner at a nearby restaurant, so we saw Julie and Julia.

September 1, 2009: Mushroom Pie

Linda had promised to make a mushroom pie for the pie bake off but then she didn't have time. So she made one and brought it in today instead. It was delicious!
