We received kale with our CSA this past week. I've never cooked Kale before so I searched for recipes at Epicurious. I found a recipe for Kale Chickpea soup. It looks good!
I gave in and went with Chad to Indian Buffet at Aman's today. That place is so amazing. Their food really is excellent. We went to Joann's afterwards for supplies.
So Deb gave us this extra roman shade a looong time ago so we could use it in the bathroom. One of the rings had come off, so I finally got around to fixing it today!
We got our second batch of CSA food today (thanks for picking it up, Mom!). Shown here is just a small portion of what we received, mostly greens. Can't wait to eat it!
Chad and I made cupcakes for yesterday's barbecue. They were sitting there tempting me in their container. They are so delicious. Can't wait to eat them. Nommmm.
Today we went to DE for the Memorial Day cook-out at the Konkiel house. One of Veronica's friends made this Happy Birthday sign for her. See how B-day is spelled??
Chad and I have wanted Poang chairs from Ikea for a long time. We found out yesterday that they would be on sale today for $39 (compared to $90) so we got two! Yay!
We walked over to the Greek Food Festival tonight with my parents. I know how you all love photos of food, so instead I'm posting a photo of a flower we saw on the way.
I had class tonight and on my walk to the subway station I was impressed, as always, by the way the city looks at dusk. I like how the sun reflects off the Comcast building.
I got blood on my shirt collar today! I guess I was bleeding after I finished shaving and I didn't realize it. I was horified when I got home and found this!
Chad and I haven't been to the comic store for our books in about 3 months, so we had quite a stack when we went this weekend. Here are the ones I was reading tonight.
It's really difficult to do homework for my very last class. Once this class is over in June, I'll be done with my M.S. degree so it's difficult to get motivated. And it's a bit dull.
We cleaned up downstairs last night because my parents came over. We got a bunch of citrus fruits at H Mart and put them on the table along with the grass.
So our sink at work was leaking so we're having it fixed. Unfortunately, there's a part that they need so it's going to take a while to get fixed. Like maybe 2 weeks or more!
So I forgot to take a photo today again! Horrible, I know. So here is a bonus photo from Mother's Day. Here are Erin and my mom in pink in the greenhouse at Terrain.
I've been putting it off for far too long. I finally hung some photos on the wall of my office. In this photo is also the new lamp I got from Ikea. It's a nicer atmosphere now.
We decided to grow grass (finally) in these glass containers that Deb gave us. She used to grow grass in them too. They look nice on our dining room table.
We went with my family to Terrain at Styer's for M-Day brunch and then to Macaroni Grill in Delaware with Chad's family. Check out this plant we saw at Terrain!
I stopped over at my parents' house today to drop off an Edible Arrangement for M-Day and my Dad presented me with some cassette tapes. I had to keep this one!!
After the conference today I wandered around looking for lunch. The Inner Harbor is pretty touristy, but it has some really neat structures, like this one.
I was really hungry tonight so I checked out the mini-bar in the room. Once I saw the prices, I refused to purchase anything. $3.25 for a snickers? Are you kidding me?
I went out to dinner with Adina and Steph tonight (one of the perks of a trip to Baltimore). We ate at Mezze - a great Tapas restaurant. This was part of the table decorations.
These are the leftover popcorn kernels after Chad (and I?) demolished a bag of popcorn. We love popcorn, so it makes me sad to see this many unpopped kernels.
I used my slow cooker for the first time this week. I made two dishes - one with quinoa and red lentils (it was okay) and the other with chick peas (it was awesome!).
Chad and I discovered these crazy mushrooms growing in our yard today and just had to get down there and take some photos of them. The spring time is great.
