Puff Blossom Tree

On my way to work today I noticed this tree with little puffy blossoms. They were so awesome and I had never noticed them before. It is right before I make my turn off of Route 73. I noticed today because it was a bit backed up due to a tractor trailer that was sitting in the turn lane not moving. This photo didn't come out as nicely as I hoped but hopefully you can see how they just look like little puffs of pink and white. Anyone know what kind of tree this is?

  1. Hi Andrew,

The Whites had a tree like this in their yard when we lived on Haines Ave. It is called a Mimosa Tree!

  2. That is so cool! Thanks, mom. I don't remember them having one.

  3. Maybe by the time you were born they had cut it down and planted a dogwood tree. Mimosa trees are unual but very messy. They re-seed quickly so we always had a million little mimosa trees growing in our yard and flower garden.
